San Francisco Modern twist on Victorian Master & Guest Baths

This was a 100 plus year old home in the Marina with a lot of quirky design that is associated with older homes, and certainly not shy of character. My clients wanted to add a modern touch while preserving the important style features from the period in which the house was built. In the Master Bath I chose traditional materials for the floors and walls and used a modern approach upon installation. I chose fixtures that complimented the architecture but offered a bit of modernism for my client’s tastes, which happened to fit their space requirements better than if we had gone with more traditional fixtures. Taking advantage of the high ceilings, we tiled up to the ceiling. This gave my clients the feeling of open space, while bringing in more light to an area previously blocked by bulky overhangs, large fixtures and dark walls. The end result – a light-filled, spacious and beautiful master bath my clients love and enjoy! by Katie Parks

Client: Singer Residence, San Francisco, CA
We used Katie for complete bathroom remodels and found that Katie’s expertise in design and tile selection saved us a tremendous amount of time. She listened to our ideas and was able to find products which fit, not only our monetary budget, but also our “construction” timeline and design style. Katie is a pleasure to work with.  Mike and Karen Singer
