Design Tips

Every Project is Unique

Site visits are imperative because every project has a unique set of differences; a funky window, a pitched ceiling, toilet in the wrong location, etc.

REMODEL –  you’re likely going down to the studs and rebuilding the space to accommodate functionality and perhaps if necessary bring to code.

OLD HOUSE –  and you want to keep some or all of its original charm then chances are you’re going to be dealing with challenges as it relates to the original architecture.

NEW BUILD –  it’s pretty straight forward, unless there are last minute changes to the original plans, delaying your project further.

No matter what type of project you have or what phase you’re in a site visit greatly supports the effort to move a project forward more effectively and efficiently. As your designer I have the opportunity to meet with your General Contractor and review plans, make any changes and discuss challenges that are getting in the way regarding tile choice and/or tile design layout. Site visits offer an opportunity for collaboration and decision making as 90% of project delays are due to lack of decision making. Together we’ll go though each room, look at the challenges (if any) discuss design concepts and start an itemized list of needs for each room that keeps your project moving forward. If you already have tile samples but just aren’t sure because maybe there isn’t enough natural light or space as you had originally thought, I can help determine whether or not your concerns can be addressed differently or if your original idea can work.

Homeowners may think they are on the same page with their contractors but I’ve seen too many times a disconnect between homeowners and their contractors which lead to delays, more money out of your pocket and potentially losing your contractor(s). How much is your project worth to you to get it right?
